Towards the end of our walk, we saw a large flock of Fieldfares. I took a few pictures of them, although rather distant, they are difficult to get near as Mike said in his blog. These pictures are best viewed large to get a better view of the birds. Also at Arne there was a large flock of Starlings who were in a field with the Fieldfares.

Magnificent photos of a magnificent beast.
I know what you mean about thoughtless, possibly brainless, dog owners. I see the same thing here where a footpath crossed a field of sheep - in spite of the notice asking people to keep dogs on a lead.
Hi Lyn, at least you got to see some Fieldfares and the images are good. The Siki certainly get very dark in colour this time of year. It's shame about those idiots with dogs, they don't seem to have an idea what they cause or just dont care.
Superb head portrait of the Sika Lyn.
I'll be birding with friends next week who are taking their dog BUT usually on a lead. As long as we don't meet any unfriendly beasts he should be quite docile....I hope! FAB
spectacular photo of a magnificent animal, you must be very proud, thank you for sharing lynmiranda.
Great pictures of the Sika Lyn. You cannot comprehend the idiotic dog owners.
The Sika is really out in the open for you to get nice clear shots.
I saw Fieldfare dropping into berry bushes on our walks in Scotland last week end but again skitish and I only managed distant shots.
Wow!! Lovely pictures Lynmiranda, the deer are lovely, and the fieldfares, i would love to see them one day in the flesh!!!x
